NOVA Sport by Fashion Nova
Los Angeles based fashion house Fashion Nova started a new division within their main DBA. Due to this pop culture phenomenon’s massive social media following, we felt it was best to have the “NOVA” mark remain untouched to visually connect to the main brand. By adding “SPORT” to this iconic wordmark, a new division logo was created that aesthetically represents FashionNova and captures the athletic vibe of athleisure wear.

Design Brief
As Art Director, my team and I were tasked with developing a wordmark and icon for their new active line. The mark had to fit equally between Adidas and Lululemon, NIKE and CARBON38, and Under Armour and ALO Yoga.
The final look represents the one-of-a-kind personalities found around the world in each and every one of their influencers.

As mentioned previously, the “NOVA” logo remained mostly intact with “SPORT” acting as the contributing element. Though design flexibility and freedom were limited, a focused collection of concepts were developed for consideration.

In addition to the wordmark, my team and I were tasked with developing an icon, separate from the wordmark, for use in small trim applications. These small heat transfers are used specifically for sports bras, leggings, joggers, and various activewear items.
